Hi, I’m Clare Mills, Shreveport native, lifelong maker, and unabashed jewelry devotee. I speak fluent gemstone (and yes, I light up when I do). After years of experimenting with everything from paint to tiny architectural birdhouses, I found my true north in jewelry and formalized it at GIA in Carlsbad, graduating from the Jewelry Design & Technology program and as a Diamond Graduate. GIA didn’t just sharpen my eye; it set it on fire, teaching me gemstone design, and the tech muscle to master a laser engraver’s complex software. Twenty years in this industry have refined my hands to bring that knowledge to life.
My process is a dialogue between old-world craft and modern precision. I sculpt with precious metal clay, an exacting medium fired in my kiln, then head to the bench for clean solder joins and thoughtful connections. I wire-wrap with meticulous care, hand-knot pearls the traditional way, and combine fabrication techniques to coax elegance from every element. My laser engraver lets me create bespoke insignias and components, family crests, meaningful symbols, and custom monograms that become the signature notes in my artisan line.
For my Black Label redesigns, I work in 14k and 18k gold with precious stones, transforming heirlooms into contemporary keepsakes that still feel like home. Whether I’m crafting a one-of-a-kind commission or a limited piece for the collection, I insist on the finest materials and a finish worthy of them.
Stylistically, I champion personal character over passing trends. I want my jewelry to speak to you, to slip easily into your life and say something true every time you wear it. Each design is handmade with love in the USA, meant to be worn, enjoyed, and eventually handed down.
After 20 years, I’m still learning, still curious, and deeply grateful for clients who value craft: the quiet strength of a perfect solder seam, the rhythm of hand-knotted silk, the poetry in a well-set stone. Jewelry is my favorite form of storytelling, and I’m honored to help you tell yours.
